MRI heart scans can diagnose a variety of conditions, from congenital heart disease to age-related wear and tear of your heart valves. They are very useful for examining the organ in detail, producing images which will enable the consultant radiologists to pinpoint any abnormalities.
During the scan, you will lie on a bed that slides inside a machine, called an MRI scanner. The scan is painless and you must lie still.
